Background job functionality in Java stack

Hello Everybody,

I want to develop some services which will run at specified interval of time to do background jobs.

There should not be ant trigger to run this job.

It should run automatically periodically.

Is such functionality available in WAS Java stack?

If yes, then how can we achieve that?
