Adapter Status

Hi

I have a requirement where i need to generate a string of Adapter Status(CHannel Monitroing)in file .I am able to get the msgid by writing a code in the user define function.Can any please guide how to get the adapterstatus channel monitoring with my msgid if there is channel error i need to see that msg,i know this can be done by writing user define function.I am not sure how to do that.....,Any documentation related to this..

Any help would be highly appreciated..
