Dear Experts,

We are trying to upgrade our test system from 46c to ECC 6.0 (Non unicode) where we

are experiencing problems in phase JOB_RSUPGAIMEXE

followed log is generated by upgrade

We logged into instance 00 (central instance) and 01 (shadow instance)

and checked the RFC Connection Test and found successful..

We tried to skip this particular phase as it does only pre-checks for XPRA phase but its asking to key-in password provided by SAP.We are doing the upgrade on a system with temporary license where SAP wont be able to connect..

please suggest at the earliest,

There arde atleast 2 phases I know of during ecc 6 upgrade where SAP has to provide you with a file that basically tells the upgrade to skip the check that is failing.

Since you are doing this upgrade on a temporary license system, sorry I have no idea what you can do.

hi cyrus,

previously i have done upgrade on solaris/oracle from 46c to ECC 6.0 on a temp license system where it didt ask to skip any phases. i am wondering why it happened in windows/MSSQL plotform?

it would be wonderful if u could write me those two phases u mentioned.

I tried to skip the phase JOB_RSUPGAIMEXE where it is asking for a password provided by SAP.

Please help...

sorry..i have checked in the previous phase lists on solaris/oracle upgrade from 46c to ECC 6.0 and couldt find the phase JOB_RSUPGAIMEXE.

Now i am sure this problem is only with Windows/SQL Server plotform.

can u please guide me is there any standard password to skip the phases?

Hi Kamalakar,

I would suggest, that you check SM37 & SM21 & ST22 in instance 00 for errors. If you cannot find anything you should start teh FM SUBST_START_BATCHJOB with SE37 yourself - e.g. RSPFPAR as parameter ...

i tried searching all the workarounds you gave..SM37,SM21 and ST22 and tried

to execute SUBST_START_BATCHJOB manually from SE37 with the parameter u

prescribed

it is scheduling a background job without start condition. when i try to

release, it says release failed..

someone in the forum was saying that we have skip couple of phases in

upgrade to ECC 6.0..is this true???do i have to skip the phase

JOB_RSUPGAIMEXE??

or if there is any workaround kindly let me know....

the failed after the release sounds weared to me ... I would try this on another SAP system and would like to see that ... it should not fail in my eyes.

definetely NOT !!!

Either you can fix it or you have to open an SAP message ... as you don't have a license installed, you need to install one first ...

i got the license and has done the upgrade again from 46C to ECC 6.0. I got the same error.

This problem is known to occur when you are using the latest version of SAPup but not the lates fixbuffer.

The report RSUPGAIMEXE to be executed in phase JOB_RSUPGAIMEXE

is delivered with the fixbuffer.

In order to overcome this error please ignore it.

The required password is: "2470".

Just in case you should be faced with an error in XPRAS_UPG

regarding 'BADI_NUMBER_GET_NEXT':

Go to SE80, package SZN, enhancements -> Enhancementspot

'BADI_NUMBER_GET_NEXT' -> generate it.

As I already mentioned: in order to overcome this error in future

upgrades please apply the newest version of the fixbuffer.

In fact, we posted an OSS Message to cross confirm the solution given by Dawn and SAP has also advised the same.

But the concern is when I have cheked the report RSUPGAIMEXE it does'nt even exist in the system.

It doesnt allow me to skip this phase as well.

Please advice.
