hi all,

please any body can give the perfect information regarding this.

i am struggling alot with this issue. please help me.

while i am installing Netweaver 2004 EP 6.0

Issue 1:

instaling window is like this...

Java System> SAP Java Cryptographic Toolkit

cryptography level : Weak and Strong

if i choose weak, installion is continuoing but i cant get all featers

after installation.

so actually i want strong apart from this.

if i choose strong it is asking files like follows:

SAP Java Library Archive -

browse files

JCE Unlimited Strength jurisdiction ploicy Archive----

browse files

here which files i have to give in path??

Secure Store files:

Encrypt secure store

Key phrase----

confirm----

and finally information as

Additional information:

The SAP Java cryptographic Toolkit is an optional part of the java system. you need it to

enable SSL and HTTPS connections and to encrypt the secure store in the file system.

we strongly recommend that you use Strong for the Cryptography level

of productive systems. for test or development systems you may also use weak encryption. that would result in a Base64 encoded passwot encryption only.

i didnt understand this perfectly. although i want Strong

which files i have to choose please .....

Issue 2:

and one more thing is SLD connections

Window is like this:

Java System> SLD Connection

Enter the parameters for connecting to the SLD

SAP System Landscape Parameters

The SAP System Landscape Directory(SLD) is an SAP software component designed for registering the sofware components of your

whole system landscape. the java server automatically reports information about its configuration in the SLD.

SLD Connection: No SLD available

Connection to SLD with HTTP

if i choose No SLD available installaion proceeds but i want

second option as Connect to SLD with HTTP

what parameters have to give here

SLD with HTTP Parameters

HTTP Host--

SLD user--

HTTP Port--

Password--

please give me the information reagarding this what parameters have to give here.

Hi Kumar,

Here i will try to solve your second Issue for SLD...

Basically SLD is used for System Landscape Directory which will centrally hadnling all your SAP systems as well as Legacy systems....

During installation it was asking u the parameter of SLD ....but must know that when u have to provide that data????? when u have already one SLD configured in your system landscape (i.e. on aother server) and you want to use its SLD instead of configuring the new SLD in current installation.

So i assume that u r doing new SLD then no need to provide any data in that.....when u installed second server (i.e. QA or PRD) at that time u have to use exisiting SLD of DEV server if u want......

As for example.....

in my project we have DEV and PRD server i have already configured the SLD on DEV server and when i am installing the PRD server i simply provide the following information of DEV server that u want to know as follows::::

SLD with HTTP Parameters

HTTP Host--(Is where u r SLD is running-HOSTNAME)

SLD user--- (Thorugh which user u r able to login to SLD)

HTTP Port--- (this is the port on which SLD is running e.g : 500000)

Password---- ( password of the previous mentioned user to login tot he SLD)....

If still u r not getting the point then reply me,...

and if yes then please give points to the reply..

ISSUE 1:

This cryptographic toolkit is used when there is a message passing between different systems or u r connected to other system thorugh variuos adapters and driver at that time for security purpose u have to install this toolkit...

for installation of toolkit..it depends on which version u r using..and based on that u have to download the latest toolkit from the Service.sap.com and also u can find out it on u r installation cd's

i.e tc_sec_java_crypto_signed_fs_lib_630SP1.sda

Also u can add thos java cryptographic toolkit after installation also.....but i am not sure on that....
