I am able to login to SQL prompt and alble to view the users also, this indicates that the database is up.

Hi Rajesh,

Logon as <sid>adm and open a command prompt and run <b>R3trans -d</b> if the result is 0000 the db is fine if it's 0008 or 0012 either the DB or the listener are nor running properly.

Have you change DB password???

The result is 0012, and i haven't changed the password.

It is scott and tiger only.

I entered into the db through scott tiger and and got the SQL prompt

So what should I do next.

I have also send the log file of TNSLISTENER.

The first thing i'll do is restart the DB and the listener and try again. The you need to check what changed since the last time the DB run properly.

Hi

Is there any other DB running on the same server? Looks like youe tnsnames.ora have some problem.Compare it with other tnsnames.ora file in another system.Also check listner.ora file. Were you able to stop and start listner ? user lsnrctl command also attach R3trans -d log file herewith

when i give R#trans -d, it is giving 0012 error code

when I give lsnrctr start, it is saying oracledefault_hometnslistener alredy running

then tns-12560 error
