RFC destinations SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC

Do we need to create these RFC destinations SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC both on R/3 system and also on ABAP stack of XI.

I have created on ABAP stack of XI but not on R/3 system.

Hi,

It depends on your requirment. If you want to natively communicate from your R/3 system with XI system i.e u want to use proxy, then you need this RFC destination to be established in the R/3 system so that R/3 system connects to the SLD of the XI system

Say ..we want to use PROXY...

Then I will define RFC destinations, but what about the

Tech settings tab options,

Activation Type,...which one should be selected.

Start on Application Server,

Registered Server program...etc...

Please explain.
