Bhavesh, could you please explain me the steps.

I know CMS is the best option, but its not in my hand to install that its under the managements decision.

Mohini,

Will try to summarize the steps here,

IR --

1. Go to Tools --> Export Design Objects -->Give the SWCV and Transport Using File System --> Select wither All Objects of a Software Componenet Version if you wnat to export an SWCV itself else select individual objects.

and then FINISH.

The TPZ File will now be available in the EXPORT directory of your server ,

/sapmnt/"SYSID"/global/xi/repository_server/export

Go to your new server ( Prod server ) , move the TPZ file to the IMPORTS folder of this server and then TOOLS --> IMPORT DESIGN OBJECTS.

/sapmnt/"SYSID"/global/xi/repository_server/import

ID -->

1. You will need to create the Transport Targets for the Business Systems . To know how this is to de done, check this link,

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/709530ef9b11d184850000e8a57770/content.htm

The procedure to export and import is the same after you created the Transport Targets in the SLD.

Hi Mohini,

Talking about best approach, CMS is the best approach to carry transports from QA to PRD.

File Transport was used earlier, but is not a good option as it involves too much of manual intervention since u need to copy files from QA to PRD and then import them into your IB.

It would be better if u install CMS and use the same for transports

Mohini,

This can be done using File Transports. Let me know if you need further info on this.

Are you using a single SLD or different SLD?

Bhavesh
