Yes...it will be considered a "core mod". Very possible and direct, but you need to keep in mind that it was a change to standard. Easier way is to create custom version of the service...say ZSAPLBBP_BID_INV....and then use your custom service where needed. If, however, the standard service is part of a mix of several services to make an overall application...ie Bid Desk...then it can be trickier.
Screen modifications in SRM can be done in 3 ways:
1.Std BADI's
2.Screen variants
3.Template changes.
The 3rd method is generally used as it is simple and very precise but the only disadvantage is that changes are not carried over in case of an upgrade.
