Hi,

Do you have a barcode dll or firmware installed. Just ordinary drivers won't help you to print barcodes from SAP. Any queries?

Feel free to revert back.

Hello,

What's the difference. How can I know this ?. I think the zebra printer runs with firmware. The problem I have is I can't print the labels in portrait orientation. The zebra printer always prints in landscape. I don't know what's the problem.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

I think i have replied for one of the other post in this forum. You need to check the printer settings, nothing more than that.

And moreover did you check the print output (which you have in portrait) by scanning the barcode.

Hello,

Yes I did that you say but this is not the problem. From Microsoft word the zebra printer prints well but not from SAP. For this reason I think can be a problem drivers Zebra printer installed in SAP.

thank.

I have already worked on ZEBRA bar code printer.

Can u tell me which SAP version & <b>System Bar codes</b> you are using to print barcode.

what is properties of your Bar code u have assigned in smartstyle.

U can also refer SAP OSS Notes for Smart forms: 750772, 750002 .

if the printout is truncate please mention that also.

Hi Shravan,

The problem is not only in the bar code, all content of the label has printed in landscape orientation when I designed the label in portrait format.

Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

As i mention in my previous message that can u give me all information related to bar code.

i am giving u some tips just chk all this :

1. Set the printer page setting <b>(eg. paper size Label 4.00 x 2.00</b>), set <b>layout orientation -- portrait.</b>

2.In smartform chk your Page (E.g Page 1 first page)> <b>Output option> Page Format -->portrait format</b>

(Also chk that what contents u whanted to print in comming proper in page layout)

3. If u have Created NEW Bar code (e.g Zsometing) there u may probably set it's property <b>as rotate than change it</b>.

4. U should Upload character set <b>S9162.CPA</b> .

5. u can also upload devtypes for zebra.

if u do all this settings and u can get print out normally from SWIN (device type by default).

If u have any question u can directly mail me

sap.abap4@gmail.com

Hi Shravan,

Sorry but I can't send e-mail you now. There is a problem with my e-mail server.

The sap version is 620.

Bar code system: It's used a bar code system with the following attributes:

Bar code simbology: code 128.

Bar Code Alignment: Rotated.

Narrow Module width: 06

Linear Height: 00150

Code 128 Mode = A.

I checked the information you send me with the following results:

1. Set the printer page setting (eg. paper size Label 4.00 x 2.00), set layout orientation -- portrait.

Ok.

2.In smartform chk your Page (E.g Page 1 first page)> Output option> Page Format -->portrait format

(Also chk that what contents u whanted to print in comming proper in page layout)

OK.

3. If u have Created NEW Bar code (e.g Zsometing) there u may probably set it's property as rotate than change it.

OK

4. U should Upload character set S9162.CPA .

I don't understand this. Where do I set this character type? I find this font and I can't find it.

5. u can also upload devtypes for zebra.

I don't understand this. What are the devtypes? How can I do this?

if u do all this settings and u can get print out normally from SWIN (device type by default).

Ok. The device type I was choosed before the change was ZLZEB2 but after the change the zebra printer still print in landscape format.

Thank you very much for your help.

Carlos Barragán.

Hi Carlos ,

As per your information i am giving following points:

For example if u wanted to print barcode

Like below example :

S.O dispatch bar code : ||||||||||||||||||||||

Then do <b>NOT alignment barcode as rotate</b> use <b>it as NORMAL.</b>

I will suggest u to use following settings for normal:

SAP Bar Code Name Z128MY

Bar Code Symbology Code 128

Bar Code Alignment Normal

<b>Narrow Module Width 10</b>

Linear Height 00150

Code128 Mode: A

UCC Check Digit

As I mention in <b>point 4.</b>

U should upload character set S9162.CPA

U can download from:

http://www.uploading.com/files/PNSP09CS/S9162.CPA.html

Procedure for upload:

Tcode : <b>SPAD > Utilities>for character Sets --> import</b>

in character set write no and give the file path

<b>Character Set Number : 9126 </b>

File Name c:\temp\S****.CPA

(open file where u store )

If it is success full all require driver and fonts will upload.

Now get the Out put from the Printer.

if u still having program please try to mail me screen shot of your output.

Uss ZLZEB2 device type in the printer definition and try the following:

In the main window add a command node above all other nodes of that window and add the following in the general attributes of the command node:

Attribute name: S_LZPL_SETUP

attrib value: '^FWR'

enter the attrib value with the single quotes.

This setting rotates text 90 degrees in place when it's printed. Use the rotated barcode.

Create a separate window for each element that prints on the label.

Hi Carlos,

i am sending u screen shot <b>how to upload in SAP.</b>

http://www.uploading.com/files/N2IGA1Z8/Procedure_to_upload_Driver.zip.html

<b>Download devtypes_zebra.zip:</b>

http://www.uploading.com/files/ZCUA1UHC/devtypes_zebra.zip.html

<b>upload character set S9162.CPA </b>

http://www.uploading.com/files/PNSP09CS/S9162.CPA.html

<u><i>please go thought with previous message.</i></u>

Hope it will work.

The lines printing super imposed because of window position.

The rotate command in the commandnode rotates the text 90deg clockwise inplace.

Create a window for each text/barcode that prints on the label.

First Remove all texts from the windows, try to print 2 lines on the label:

For example you want to print:

Material Number

Material Description

Create 2 windows, enter Mat desc. in first window and mat number. in second window.

If the label size is 101x152mm, keep first window left margin 86mm, second window left margin 96mm. Keep the window width aboout the size of the length of the text you want to print.

The texts that prints on the label top to bottom should be arranged right to left in the smartform.

Hi Sridhar,

Thank you for explain my doubts.

I have other doubt. Is there other way to archive the portrait orientation. I say this because is a hard work to align right all fields of the my label. It has more than 15 fields with several sizes.

Carlos.

That's rt, it's very hard to align the rotated fields on the lable, but this is the only way to rotate em in smartforms to print on zebra printers.

To get the cordinates of windows, mainly left margin, design your label in Visio or other design software, get the coordinatres and plug into smartforms.

After that you might need to do small adjustments.

You can also try zebra barone software from www.zebra.com/sap to disgn label and get coordinates.

Hi Sridhar,

But I can't understand why Microsoft word cant print a label in portrait orientation without problems and SAP can't do it. Do you know the reason ? Don't they use the same drivers?

Regards,

Carlos.

I think they use different drivers. SAP uses LZPL driver and microsoft uses windows driver.

Orientation, size and other properties are taken care in word and widows driver(you know... wysiwyg), but you've to do it manually in smartforms.

Don't know the inner workings of the drivers, but when label printed in microsoft word, it produces about 400KB file for a simple label, notepad producing about 40KB file and smartform produces about 1KB file,

Attribute Name: S_LZPL_SETUP

Attribute Value: '^FWR'

this is still not working for me...am i doing something wrong in this Command line?

Hi Carlos,

You can as well print barcodes from SAP onto Zebra printers. They are fully integrated. (Visit: http:
www.zebra.com)

I used Smartforms for label printing on Zebra 105SL printer.

Consult your basis for proper configuration of zebra printer and its drivers...
