3.3.3 Checking the ABAP Connection

This is a small test for checking the RFC destination you have created.

Procedure

1. Log on to your SAP Web.

2. Call transaction SE38

3. Enter the name of the test report: FP_PDF_TEST_OO.

4. Choose Execute (F8)

Result

If the configuration is correct, the system displays the version number.

If the configuration is not correct, the system displays a dialog box with fields for user and password. Check your configuration settings and also the entries you have made earlier in Creating the ABAP connection, Basic Authentication [on page 14] or in Creating the ABAP connection, SSL [on page 20].

Does this work?

Hi Noel,

Iam getting the version number, this says that my config is correct. But still the problem persists.

Caused by: com.sap.security.core.server.destinations.api.DestinationException: [destination_0001] The properties for destination FP_ICF_DATA_DEV of type HTTP could not be located.

It seems your destination could not be found... Authorization problems? Could you check SM59?

In SM59 -> HTTP connections to external server -> ADS checked for ADS test connection and response code was OK(Code 200).

Where the problem might be??????

Hello Phanindranath,

In order to execute print forms you have to maintain two connections:

1. From ABAP to Java (ADS) -> This is done via transaction SM59.

2. From Java (ADS) to ABAP -> This is done via the Destinations service (Visual Admin).

Please check the appropriate section in the ADS config guide to get the details on how to establish this second connection.

Regards,

Philipp

You may want to check if under your sid/global/Adobedocumentservices folder if you have a subfolder for a) XMLFormService and b) REndererrorlog

I found in my installation in comparing two servers that one where i was having the same error was missing these folders and it so happens there is a bin folder under XMLFormservice which contains the XDP files it cannot find

I have a customer message logged and when I get an answer I will update

Hi Ron,

We are having similar issue with ADS as you described above. I am wondering if you ever got the reply back from SAP or were you able to solve the issue?

Please let me know if you have any updates on that.

The problem was resolved by copying from our other system running the ADS the missing folders. If you check under the global directory you will see the subfolder as described in my last post so if a system identifier is DEV it would be drive usr\sap\DEV\sys\global\AdobeDocumentServices\

then under the AdobeDocumentServices folder there needs to be the folder for XMLFormService otherwise when starting and testing it will not find the XDP files it requires. I did not end up filing the call as this resolved the problem

Other folders you should have are;

Licensesupportservice

RenderErrorlog

TrustManagerService

DataManagerService

and others.

I believe there must be a support package that is not cumulative as we did the install then added the Java support package for ADS and several of the mentioned folders influding the XMLFormService and the RenderErrorlog were not there

Hope this helps

I have both directories but i found out that XMLFormService does not contain bin folder on neither installation(we have two Netweaver installations). Do you have any idea where i can get these files?

Hello, I have the same issue on our system, where can we find the XMLFormService folders and files?

Thanks
