Dear All,

I am having trouble installing the Java Add-In for ABAP (ERP2005 SP1)version. I just upgraded from R/3 4.7 ext.1.1 to ERP2005 (ECC6) and would like to install a new Java Add-in.

I successfully installed the SCS and database instance however the CI installation terminates in the step "unpackJ2EEINSTALL" with the following errors:

"INFO 2006-10-18 13:42:32

Execute step unpackJ2EEINSTALL of component |NW_Addin_CI|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_CI_Instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|8|0.

ERROR 2006-10-21 18:42:32

FJS-00003 TypeError: instance has no properties (in script NW_Addin_CI|ind|ind|ind|ind, line 94875: ???)

ERROR 2006-10-18 13:45:35

FCO-00011 The step unpackJ2EEINSTALL with step key |NW_Addin_CI|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_CI_Instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|8|0|unpackJ2EEINSTALL was executed with status ERROR ."

The KEYDB.xml file seems to be missing a few important property fields.

I also tried restarting the installation with the additional argument "SAPINST_SKIP_ERRORSTEP=true" but that didn't help.

Has anyone experienced this problem and know of a solution?

Best Regards,

Owen.

Dear Kedar,

The solution to this problem is to start the sapinst using the following:

<Driveletter>:\sapinst.exe SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=<ABAP_Virtual_host_name>

Hope this solution helps you as well

can you please try to explaing what you are doing?

sapinst_use_hostname should normally only be used on cluster machines itself telling sapinst to use a specified hostname instead of the hostname in installation steps.

If you say you are installing on a sun cluster (with I assume on solaris as OS) what has this problem to do with SAP on Windows?

regards

Peter
