Does the SAP NetWeaver (J2EE 5) edition support JDK 1.5?
Thanks.
Hello Oliver,
there are currently no plans to support JDK 1.5 with SAP NetWeaver 2004s any time soon.
However, all future versions of SAP NetWeaver will use JDK 1.5 right from the start. According to current planning, the first product based on JDK 1.5 will be the SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment that we announced at TechEd
(see the press release under http://www.sap.com/company/press/press.epx?pressid=6705). A timeline for this product will presumably be published early next year.
Best regards

Hi Eric,
Sure! This Java EE 5 edition comes with SAP's own Java VM (implementation of JDK 1.5) which, combined with session failover and other capabilities on top, provide for unmatched server robustness, supportability, and high availability.
Please check the documentation on https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn?rid=/webcontent/uuid/28b1ed0e-0d01-0010-c887-a8fdecdb9053">this [original link is broken] [original link is broken]

Hope that helps!
