Could not create DOM from control.xml

Hello,

I am trying to update SAP J2EE Engine 640 SPS15 to SPS18.

After unpacking the SAR files, I get the following error when executing sapinst.exe

SAPinst is getting started.

Please be patient ...

guiengine: login in process.

WARNING

Could not read file control.xml. Please make sure that you called SAPinst with the correct control file (the control file is given to SAPinst as its first command line parameter or as value of the command line property SAPINST_CONTROL_URL)

ERROR

Could not create DOM from control.xml

Exit status of child: 1

Any idea??

I had upgraded J2EE Engine SPS09 to SPS15 with no problem.

Have you unpacked both parts of the J2EE update?

Hello

finally the problem was solved,

it was due a wrong file CTRLMSS_18*.SAR for IA64

OSS Support sent me a new one, so I did the installation finally !!!

Dear Noemi Liano,

Now iam installing sap content server 6.40  on windows 2008 server r2 with Max DB7.6.

While installtion iam getting same error and strugguling from 4 days. Iam unable to findout those wrong file as u said above .

Please clarify me.
