SLD -- Component & Product Vendor Name

Hi

What would be the vendor name for a product and component while developing interfaces in XI?

Thanks a lot for the responses.

For example for a enterprise there are two legacy systems exists , do we need to create two products and two software componets or one product and two software components. Please give an idea if these two legacy systems are from two different vendors and also the case like from different vendors? As we understand the vendor name for component and product would be same.

In case you have two diff. legacy systems then it wud be ideal to have them independent of each other. So each would have its own entries for product.

For third party system you can use the vendor's web site url as vendor name.

For example: microsoft.com

Depends on the development norms or naming conventions for a particular project. But in case you are doing it for a test purpose prefer vendor name as a URL like sap.com or yourcompany.com

If it is a third party prodcut, you need to give the Third Party 's name as the vendor. it can be anything for third party products.
