MDMP

We are running 4.6c with 4.6d on an AS/400 model 840 v5r1. We are starting the planning to upgrade to ERP 2005 and 2004s; however, we're not sure if MDMP or Blended Code Page is stalled.

We asked our implementation partner and we are the only iSeries they have done and they don't know for sure. Our IBM VAR isn't sure either.

Is there an easy way to determine how we are set up without running SPUMG?

Thanks,

Bill Cooper

Hello Bill,

so simply check/activate your NLS settings with report rscpinst. If you see more than one entries in table TCPDB you have a MDMP configured system.

If you have a single code page ascii system with 1100, the simplfied inplace conversion for combined upgrade and unicode conversion can be used, see note 800791.

Guido

Hello Bill,

Blended Code Pages have never been supported with SAP on System i (iSeries, AS/400) and MDMP will not longer be supported by SAP in general starting with anything based on SAP NetWeaver 2004s, e.g. ERP 2005. This info has been rolled out to customers via customer letter. You can find a copy of it in the news section of service.sap.com/platforms.

Best Regards, Chris.

Parameter zcsa/installed_languages should list all the languages installed.

Table TCPDB should have the code page info. If it is empty, just check the kernel is EBCDIC or ASCII from Tcode SM51 - "release info".

Thank you,

Victor
