SM 4 installation issue MS SQL

Hi,

I am trying to install SM 4.0 on Windows 2003 and MS-SQL 2005. I have installed j2sdk-1.4.2_12-windows and that is fine. All goes fine till step 8 of 41 (DB downtime configuration).

It throws an error:

ERROR 2006-10-15 15:53:11

FSL-06002 Error 1057 (The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified. ) in execution of a 'StartService' function, line (1213), with parameter (MSSQLSERVER).

ERROR 2006-10-15 15:53:11

MOS-01199 Could not start the 'MSSQLSERVER' service on host 'devsys05'.

ERROR 2006-10-15 15:53:11

FCO-00011 The step doRestartServer with step key |NW_Onehost|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|1|0|NW_CreateDBandLoad|ind|ind|ind|ind|9|0|NW_CreateDB|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_MSS_DB|ind|ind|ind|ind|2|0|MssDowntimeConfig|ind|ind|ind|ind|7|0|doRestartServer was executed with status ERROR .

Any insight into this issue would be much appreciated.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this issue also re-occurs on Solution Manager 7.1 using SQL Server 2012.

The root cause in my case was an incorrect service user, LocalSystem, for the SQL Server Agent which was failing to logon. Changing the user corrected the issue.

my problem already solve now ..

yesterday i try install SOLMAN 4.0 SR1

with environment :

Win 2003

MSSQL 2005 SP1

JDK 14.02.9

when we try installation have error same like u FSL-06002 Error 1057 (The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified.) in execution of a 'StartService' function, line (1213), with parameter (MSSQLSERVER).

solution is :

1. please remove the MSSQL SERVER 2005 SP1 and restart the Server

2. and than install MSSQL Server 2005 ( don't including SP1 MSSQL )

the installation MSSQL SERVER please click SQL4SAP.vbs from DVD

3. the next step install the SAP Solution Manager

Note :

and make sure your hard drive not compress ( disk for SAPDATA )
