Hi,
I have installed Creme 3.27 & MI Client Sp16 Patch 0 on the handheld device ( Intermec IS 730)
When I synchronize on the handheld, I get the following error
Error:cannot connect (java.io.FileNotFoundException :
I have installed the MI Client with Sp16 Patch 03 on a desktop that works with WAS without any error.
The handheld device & desktop both use the same user credentials.
The handheld is connected to the desktop with an USB cable.
Please let me know if you are aware of a solution
Thanks
Raj

The device cannot resolve the name of the server. We had this issue with other intermec devices. The resolution was to use a FQDN or ip address.

Hi Jo,
Thanks for your reply.
I have few queries..
1. I am not using https. Do I still need the SSL libraries ?
2. I have extracted NWM_JSP_WINCE.sda file & installed the MI25Tom.CAB file on the mobile device.
I searched the JSSE1-0-3_01 in that file. I was not able to find it. Please let me know where I can get it ?
3. Please let me know as to which classpath are you referring to ?
What I have done till now is installed the Creme & MI Client Sp16 on mobile device & tried the sync after the settings have been done.
Have I missed any step in this process ?
Thanks
Raja

Hi Raja.
Is the PDA connected via Active Sync to your desktop?
If your PDA is connected to the Laptop are you able to access other internet pages using the Pocket Internet Explorer? For example your WAS root site? Or something like that?
If you use Active Sync you should check whether it is correctly configured in order to path your PDA thru to the network.
If you do not uses HTTPS you do not need the library. For me it works fine without it.
Cheers,
Sascha
Hi,
you do not need the SSL libraries when you are just using HTTP. It rather looks as the PDA has network issues like name lookup of your host etc. Have you already tried the test URI from the InstGuide? May as well use a domain suffix if one applies (e.g. myhost.myloc.mycorp.corp)
Please use the PDA PocketIE for the Test.
Rgds Thomas
Inst Guide:
Testing Synchronization
To test if synchronization is principally working without having to install the client, call the
following URL in your browser:
http://<Server>:<Port>/meSync/servlet/meSync?~sysid=<System
ID>&~login=<User
name>&password=<Password>&client=<Client>&~language=<Language>
&acknowledge=X&test=true&
For Example:
http://p59298:50000/meSync/servlet/meSync?sysid=u6b&login
=tester&password=test&client=800&language=de&acknowledg
e=X&~test=true&
If the test was successful, the browser displays a message containing a time that, for
example, looks like:
&WAF_SYNC&STATUS=&Execution Time =103129& HeaderType =
MEREPLICATION &MORE_PACKAGES_WAITING = &
If the test fails, the system generates an error message.
Alternatively, you can test synchronization using a configured client.

hello raja,
seems that you don't have the proper SSL libraries in your
classpath. this is the same problem as described here
try installing the JSSE1-0-3_01.cab file that is included
in the MI client CD and adjust the classpath of your client.
in PDA, you have to modify the lnk file that is in the
StartUp folder, and add the SSL related jar files into the
classpath.

jo
HI Raja,
