IPC Configuration

Our Basis team is trying to install the IPC. All the steps in the setup guide have been followed until initial data-upload per the installation guide. We defined an R/3 system and a local database.

When the download is initiated or even the connection is tested, the connection fails with a R/3 terminating with a short dump in the CRM_SEND_DATA function module. Has anyone made faced this issue?

First of all when there is no material master does the IPC have to connect to the R/3?

Hi Mani,

The error message being generated by an abend message is "Connections to IPC not possible!". There is a note 846021 which give the solution for the problem but i did not see the blocksize it talks about. Also, even if I test the connection and don't actually try to download any data, the shortdump occurs.

Also would be grateful if you can give some information on the relevance of IPC.

I have maintained the three entry as given in the IPC installation guide.

But for Indirect procurement, can you expain why do we need IPC.
