We are going to Send our PO IDOCS(Custom Made) to XI and then to our Suppliers.

How to connect an R/3 System to an XI System?

What are all the steps that we need to do configure to Send an IDOC to the XI System?

Thanks Bhavesh and Sergio.

Once an R/3 System is Connected with an XI System, how to test the Connections between these two systems are OK. Since our Development is not yet over in R/3 we cannot test that by sending an IDOC.

Jenni,

In SM 59 --> use a TEST CONNECTION to test your connection between the R3 system and the XI box.

If the user id entered in the Login Details is a Dialog user Id, then you can try a Remote Log on as well .

TO test for network connectivity between the R3 and XI, try a Telent from your R3 box to XI and vice versa.

Bhavesh

Hi Jenni,

using transaction SM59, test connection and test authorization.

The same for both R3 to XI and XI to R3

HI,

Take a look at this document,

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/cdded790-0201-0010-6db8-beb...

TO summarize,

R3:

1. SM59 --> create RFC destination for XI

2. We21--> Create port for XI

3. We20--> Create Partner Profile with outbound entries / inbound entried for the IDOC.

XI :

1. Sm 59 --> create RFC destination for the R3 system

2. IDX1 --> Create port for R3

SLD :

1. Create Tech SYstem for the R3 system

2. Create Bus System for the logical System of your R3 system.

Regards,

Bhavesh
