Hi
We experienced performance problems in our XI Production System yesterday, which got resolved on it's own.
We noticed that there were more than 5000 messages waiting to be processed and Adapter Engine was processing them very slowly.
To investiage the cause, we checked Component Monitoring, Message Monitoring and Performance monitoring in Runtime Workbench to find out the status of the componenets.
To our surprise, the performance of message processing improved all of a sudden after few checks in Runtime Workbench. This happened in prevous occassions as well.
We are wondering how the messages processing improved all of sudden after few checks in RWB. XI Server was not busy at all at that time.
I would be grateful for any valuable tips on this to identify the cause or to improve the performance.

Chandu
Hi,
Pobably the problem lays somewhere on adapter engine.
There is a nice document on service marketplace about tunning. Maybe in your it was due to too less connection pool to database. It is always nice to look at:
http://<host>:<port>/MessagingSystem (it is adapter message monitor)
Please check also this:

Have a look for JDBC interfaces that then spawn multiple (1000's) of messages with the following checkbox checked - Maintain Order at Runtime under quality of service.
if you have this situation happen; we've noticed the queueing system behaves poorly and blocks other messages coming through (not sure which queues get blocked or whether it's all JAVA adapter engine queues).
Anyway, not a basis person, but just providing some input that may be useful.

Matt
