Architecture Intel with iSeries

Dear Gurus..

I want to know the following:

1.- Can I work with one development server iSeries,

with Quality server Intel and Production server

iSeries and the Transport management work correctly?

2.- Can I work with one development server Intel, with

Quality server Intel and Production server iSeries?

Exist any information about diferents architecture?

Hi Luis,

yes, you could do this, to run with a mixture in your landscape. You could run your dev system on windows, the QA system on linux and the productive one on iSeries, but I would strongly recommend ONE platform only !

Otherwise you need knowledge and/or consultants for each platform and this is quite a headache ...

Yes, it would be possible to setup the trans directory as well ...

But keep in mind:

- knowledge for each platform

- if Q & P are not on the same platform you cannot do a homogeneious systemcopy for a refresh :-((

- ...

=> You should decide for one platform and put everything to that ...

(at least for one landscape - you could act different for e.g. BW, but I even would not recommend that)

Bonjour,

To answer your first question, yes you can work with intel server. For the part with the transport if you release a transport on the windows app server (dev instance) the files created will not have the right ccsid.

you have to implement note 77044.

We tried it and it does work at the condition you do not have you file on a IASP.

For second questions what do you mean exactly.
