BW Query - Use Variant?

I am trying to incorporate a BW report, and I want to have the variables of the report populated from a variant.

How do I achieve this? (I'm sure it is very simple, but I haven't been able to work it out)

You do this on the BW side, not on the VC side.

Hi Mario, thanks for your reply.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post, but what I wanted to be able to do was load the variables from a variant. I don't need to be able to save the variants from within VC.

I have worked out how to do this. I used the web api to pass in the command "VARIANT=<variant_name>" which has achieved what I wanted to do.

Its strange that variants exist for BW reports, but can only be used in BEx. Seems to me that it would have made a lot more sense to be able to choose a variant anywhere that a BW query is run, including VC, and the WAD.
