Hi,
Would it be possible to use WebDynpro IViews created in VC in a pure WAS environment (without an Enterprise Portal)?
Thanks.
Dick
These WebDynpro iViews from VC also use the user management, so unfortunately, you cannot use them outside the Portal

What is the best practice option for creating internet facing applications (that access backend SAP via BAPI/RFC) using Netweaver technology? SDN is full of example where applications are assumed to live in the Portal - what about if they are standalone internet apps?
For example how good is the option to use WebDynpro framework directly with WAS Java?
Would really appreciate any pointers to case studies, blogs, discussions, best practice documents, etc.

iViews are a construct of the PCD which is part of the Enterprise Portal. Therefore, this wouldn't directly be possible. You could deploy it as a java application if you do some tricks to create java wrappers.
