external mySAP SRM-Feed via XI

Hi Board,

I'm interested in the option to create shopping carts via external input file. The requirement is to interface an external webshop application which provides shopping carts to a SRM Server system. I could influence the file structure provided for input at least a little.

Are there possibilities to feed shooping cart data via XI/XML in SRM server? As I'm really new to that topic I'm open to any suggestions or ideas.

Systems used are mySAP SRM 4.0 with XI 3.0 in extended classic scenario.

May regards, Richard

I guess there should be a BAPI/IDOC involved in creation of a shopping cart. So in an XI prespective it is a

File (ext. sys) -> XI -> BAPI/IDoc(SRM) scenario.

Some extra pointers on SRM & XI. It can be an interesting read for you.

SAP has pre-delivered content for SRM, so it comes with mappings

and design time objects.

More documentation https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/ibc and search for

SRM in the Left Menu.

Shabz,

>>>>SAP has pre-delivered content for SRM.

I can understand this. SAP provides some data types, MT and MI based on that with ref to SRM functional modules.

>>>>so it comes with mappings

I am sure I dont get this point. Because the other service to be integrated with SRM is client specific. Rite??? How can SAP provide a mapping for this???

Thanks & Regards,

Jai Shankar.

take MDM for example ...

in its predelivered content, you are provided with mapping between IDOCs in R3 like MATMAS -> MDM specific XSD. I assume the same for SRM too.

>>> in case of Rosettanet, its predelivered content come with standard PIP -> IDOC or IDOC -> PIP mappings !!
