Hi,
I've changed our backup CLs in order to don't need an INZTAP command, because it only initializes the first tape in the sequence. Also I've added an expiration date in any of the SAVE commands:
SAVSECDTA DEV(&CINTA) SEQNBR(1) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(LEAVE) CLEAR(ALL)
SAVCFG DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(*LEAVE)
SAVOBJ OBJ(QCLSRC) LIB(QGPL) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(*LEAVE)
SAVLIB LIB(R3S30DATA) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) +
ENDOPT(LEAVE) SAVACT(SYNCLIB) +
SAVACTWAIT(1200) SAVACTMSGQ(BACKUP) ACCPTH(*YES)
SAVLIB LIB(D) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(LEAVE) ACCPTH(YES)
SAVLIB LIB(DA) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(LEAVE) ACCPTH(YES)
SAVLIB LIB(DG) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(LEAVE) ACCPTH(YES)
SAVLIB LIB(DM) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(LEAVE) ACCPTH(YES)
SAVLIB LIB(DMSAP) DEV(&CINTA) EXPDATE(&EDATE) ENDOPT(LEAVE) ACCPTH(YES)
...
I only use CLEAR(*ALL) for the first command which also has SEQNR(1). What will occur when the second tape will be load ?? If the data in the second tape is expired as I expect, would message CPA4036 will appear ?
Hi Joan,
On our test system we used to use 5 tapes a day to do the backup one of the SAP data library.
Here are all the save commands that I used, in sequence:
SAVOBJ OBJ(*ALL) LIB(R3SIMJRNOL) DEV(&TAPD) +
SEQNBR(1) EXPDATE(&EXPDAT) ENDOPT(*LEAVE)
SAVOBJ OBJ(*ALL) LIB(R3TSTJRNOL) DEV(&TAPD) +
EXPDATE(&EXPDAT) ENDOPT(*LEAVE)
SAVOBJ OBJ(*ALL) LIB(OLDJRNRCV) DEV(&TAPD) +
EXPDATE(&EXPDAT) ENDOPT(*LEAVE)
SAVLIB LIB(&LIB) DEV(&TAPD) EXPDATE(&EXPDAT) +
ENDOPT(LEAVE) PRECHK(YES) +
SAVACT(*SYNCLIB) SAVACTMSGQ(QGPL/DAILYSAVE)
SAVLIB LIB(&LIBS) DEV(&TAPS) EXPDATE(&EXPDAT) +
ENDOPT(LEAVE) PRECHK(YES) +
SAVACT(*SYNCLIB) SAVACTWAIT(0) +
SAVACTMSGQ(QGPL/DAILYSAVE)
SAVSAVFDTA SAVF(SAPPGMS/DAILYSAVE) +
DEV(&TAPD) EXPDATE(&EXPDAT)
When one tape was filled the tape drive would rewind, unload, load the next tape and continue on.
I dont know if the CPA4036 ever appeared, I have it in the system reply list (command WRKRPYLE) set to I.
I never remember seeing it in the job messages though.
Regards
Bill
