On what platforms we can install PCK? and what are software and hardware prerequisites for the installation?
Odyssee with PCK
I have now been trying to install the partner connectivity kit on a windows xp
virtual machine image but I faild. The install guide sais I am supposed to use:
SAP NetWeaver 2004s SR2 Installation Master DVD
SAP NetWeaver 2004s SR2 Java DVD
SAP NetWeaver 2004s SR2 Kernel <Operating System> DVD
<Database> RDBMS DVD
available under
"However, you can also download installation DVDs from SAP Service Marketplace at:
https://service.sap.com/swdc Downloads Installations and Upgrades Entry by Application Group
<your solution> <release of your solution> <your operating system> <your database> ."
Sorry but I cannot identify the files I find at the specified location
corresponding to the given names from the install guide. So I went on on my own
finding the following archives on "service marketplace download>Search for Installations and upgrades".
I used the keywords partner connectivity kit
NW04 SR1 XI PARTNER CONNECTIVITY KIT Linux on Power, 51030923_5, size 44.125
NW04 SR1 XI PARTNER CONNECTIVITY KIT, 51031032_5, size 43.189
SAP NW04 SR1 XI PARTNER CONNECTIVITY KIT, 51030723_5, size 391.356
The first two being corrupt, i.e. having zero size after download. The last one
seemed to be all right but requires a J2EE environment (WAS 6.4 presumably)
which I only conclude from the cryptic error message from one of the install scripts.
Then I installed the J5EE Testing environment which worked out of the box (thats
the way it should work, congrats) and tried to install the above stated archive.
This would not work because the installation script was looking for the JnEE installation under /usr/SAP on a Windows machine!!!
After that I tried to deploy the contained .sca files manually which almost
worked but resulted in a dependency error and sql error of some of the contained
sql scripts.
What have I done to deserve this.

Hi Madhavi,
SAP PCK is based on the Adapter Framework. Instead of configuring the connections in the Integration directory, the PCK is configured through the native AF interface. Communication between SAP XI and PCK is via XI Messaging protocol.
The following link gives the Installation guide for PCK.
The following link has useful info about licence
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Praveen

Check the PAM (product availability matrix)
Look for SAP Netweaver 04 or 2004s.
