XI 3.0 Encoding Problem (u00A3 sign)

Hi,

We have an XI interface which passes ORDERS04 IDocs from R/3 to a file in XML format(via the file adapter). File type is Text, and file encoding is blank. The interface generally works fine, however fails at the Vendor side if the XML order contains a "£" sign in the UTF-8 encoded document.

I have tried changing the File Encoding on the Communication Channel to ISO-8859-1, but this does not update the XML header, and therefore doesn't help.

Has anyone found a way round this? I read in an OSS note that the file type should be binary when creating files in XML format, but this does not change the XML header, so I assume this wouldn't make any difference.

Has anyone got this working?

Thanks,

--Lee

Hi,

I had faced simillar kind of problem long time back and I did it by setting the file type as Binary and it worked for me.

It makes difference as there are certain control characters that will not be visible in notepad.

Thanks,

Prakash
