"Vendor text" (item data) replicated to R3 ?

Hi guys,

Im using the vendor text field for adding item specifications. However, I noticed that field is not replicated to the PO in the backend. I mean, once the PO is created in SRM it is replicated to R3, but that field is not replicated in any field ! =(

Do you know how can I replicate that field in order to see it in R3 ?

Are you creating PO from SC..? Is vendor text in SC filled with the required data and appearing in SRM PO?

Yes, Im creating the PO from a SC and also, the vendor text is filled in the SC and then transfered automatically to the PO.

The problem is that field does not replicate to R3 ! =(

Do you know how could I solve it ?

Vendor text is SRM standard functionality.

If you add vendor Text in SC, it gets transfered to PR and PO in backend.

If you add Internal notes then it transfers to only PR in backend and not PO.

Did you check that Vendor text is getting transfered to PR in Backend?

Hi

If you have vendor text maintained in the Header data of PO in SRM (documents tab) it will get shown in the 'Texts' tab of the PO header in R3.

Similarly, if the vendor text is maintained at the item level in SRM PO (docuemnts tab), it will get shown in the 'Texts' tab of PO item details in R3 (item text).

Have you checked this?

Well.. I have vendor text maintained at the item level in SRM PO (documents tab), however that field is not replicated to R3.

I opened an OSS message and support people told me thats the standard SRM behavior.

Are they wrong ?

Or what should I do in order to send that "extra" field ?

Did you check in Texts tab at item level in backend PO?

What is there? Thats where the SRM Text will be appeared. We are able to view the texts in PO.

Yes, I checked the text tabs at item level in backend PO, and all of them are empty =(

Im using SRM 4.0 sp8 with Extended Classic Scenario. Which version/scenario are you using ? I would like to see why you can see that texts without any problem =(

Hi Diego,

It looks like the support people are right. The only thing I found on OSS is this note:

Note 722960 - BAdI EBP: Texts are not transferred

Basically it says: Transferring texts from SRM to R/3 is not possible, however you can implement BADI BBP_PO_INBOUND_BADI to do your own adding to texts.

So probably you will have to take a look at customer fields to transfer text to R/3 or use the fields provided in the standard structures in the BADI.
