Hi everybody.

I only have one simple cuestion which I can't find in sdn...

Is SAP Web Application Server 7.0 out?

Could my company buy it?

Someone told me that it was not released...

We're working now with 6.0 and we would like to work with the latest one..

Could anyone confirm this, please??

Thanks a lot in advance.

Alberto.

Hey, thanks for your replies, I know that SAP Netweaver 2004s is the platform which contains the WAS, but... This WAS should be any version, shouldn't it?

There're forums in which people speak about WAS 7.0...

Thanks again

Alberto.

Hi,

I think that even SAP doesn't know how to call it. At TechEd 2005 one was speaking of WAS 7 and appearantly there is a difference between SAP developers and marketeers on how to call it. I heard last year that one was trying to put all version numbers to the same level starting from NW 2004s, thus WAS7, etc. But one made exceptions for BI, etc.

And ECC is now at version 6, so I guess one gave up this intention.

Hi Alberto,

The Application Server Java that is part of SAP Netweaver 2004s has version 7.0. However this version information is not used frequently, the official terminology is SAP Netweaver 2004s.

If you have existing Netweaver installation, you can check what version are different components (6.40, 7.0, etc.) by accessing the following URL

http://<http_host>:<http_port>/monitoring/SystemInfo

If you are interested in the latest Java Application Server, like you said in your posting, please note that in the SDN there are preview versions of the Application Server Java that will come with Netweaver 2007. You can download it for free and experiment with it. It will cover the Java EE 5 specification.

Please have a look at :

I saw all your replies. It clears lots of doubts in my mind. is the default port for ECC 5 (Netweaver 2004) is 50000

and ECC 6 (Netweaver 2004s) is 50100 ?

eg: http:host:50000/irj/portal ???????

I really appreciate the help

The port 50000 or 50100 not based on Netweaver 04 or Netweaver 04s but this is depending upon the port no where J2EE engine is running and is defined by while configuring the J2EE engine.

Hi Alberto,

As of SAP NetWeaver 2004s there is no more components so there is no 7.0 release, just a platform release call SAP NetWeaver 2004s. It contains all the prior SAP Web AS technology.

You can get more info of the change in this blog: /people/michael.eacrett/blog/2006/06/17/obituary-for-sap-netweaver-components-2003-150-2005

cheers,

Mike.

Hi,

WebAS is part of NW2004s, which is out for some time now.
