LiveCache Installation

Hi,

I am asked by my client to install SCM5.0. I was looking on OSS Install guides and I am actually confused on the installation procedure. I would appreciate if you can answer the following questions for me one by one.

1. SCM5.0 (it is a NW04s or NW04).?

2.If I install SCM 5.0 server , will it install the LiveCache by default or do I need to install LiveCache Seperately. If I need to install the LiveCache seperately, do I need to have the MAXDB/SAP DB software cd's as well. (as per OSS I need inst master and live cache dvd)

3. How are SCM 5.0 and LiveCache and APO different?

4. Can you please give me a high level steps for the install...(Like should I do the livecache install first and then og for SCM5.0 install or Install SCM and then install Live Cache etc

5. For SCM install is it ABAP+JAVA Add in or Just JAVA or ABAP only or ABAP and JAVA.

It is a little urgent and appreciate a quick response.

1. SCM Server 5.0 based on SAP NW 2004s

2. Please review the document for the liveCache installation:

service.sap.com/instguides -> mySAP Business Suite Applications

-> mySAP SCM -> Using SAP SCM 5.0 Server ->

"Installation - SAP liveCache Technology on Win(or UNIX) - NW04s"

What database is going to use the customer? ( MAXDB ? )

If the liveCache will be not installed on the application server, then you need

liveCache client software to be installed on the application server for

APO application to be able to communicate with liveCache.

3. What do you mean? Please review the documents at

service.sap.com/scm -> mySAP SCM Technology ->

"Architecture overview" & "liveCache overview"

4. & 5. Please review first the documents at

service.sap.com/scm -> mySAP SCM Technology ->

"Architecture overview" & "Installation and Upgrade overview"

And after that please start with SCM 5.0 Master installation guide at

service.sap.com/instguides -> mySAP Business Suite Applications

-> mySAP SCM -> Using SAP SCM 5.0 Server ->

"Master Guide - mySAP SCM Using SAP SCM 5.0"

< The recommended installation sequence for the diff. Servers you could

review on p. 18. >

And as there are many questions from the different areas, and you have the

SAP customer, please ask the customer to create the SAP ticket to 'BC-INS' or

'BC-DB-LVC-INS' to handle all questions relevant to the installation of the

SCM 5.0 system.
