Hi Gurus,

I need help from you guys.The problem is i am getting error while installing Solution Manager 4.0 on AIX 5.2

and Oracle 10.2.0.2

I got lot of errors in the process like

Soft Resource Limit Stack Size

Soft Resource limit Data Size

AIX C/C++ Runtime Version

Which i cleared.The only error now i am facing is "Soft Resource limit Data Size".I am trying to change the Limit size to unlimited but unfortunately it is taking the default size.thought i am updating in .profile user of root.

And there is an option to bypass this error and continue this installation but in between i got this error

Hi,

Set ulimits at OS level as following command.

#ulimit -a then enter and see data stack ..it should be unlimited.

  1. ulimit -d unlimited.

After setting the above parameter, then u have to do start agian installation.

If any problems...let me know.

Hi Vamsi,

you have to set the ulimits in /etc/security/llimits, then they will be used after each login.

example:

fsize = -1

data = -1

stack = -1

core = 16000

fsize_hard = -1

cpu_hard = -1

data_hard = -1

stack_hard = -1

core_hard = 16000

Pascal

Hi Vamsi,

have you checked the permissions of the file /etc/rc.d/init.d/sapinit ?

also check permissions on folders /etc, /etc/rc.d and /etc/rc.d/init.d

if its okay, try to run /oracle/SMD/sapdata4/sapinst_instdir/SOLMAN/SYSTEM/ORA/CENTRAL/AS/installsapinit.sh

manually
