SAP Mobile 2.5 Client on Windows 5.0

Hi,

I have downloaded the creme file CrEme327a_AX_CE50_PPC_minimal.CAB which I gather is for Windows 5.0 and have installed the MI Client JSP SP13 via the cab file available from the service marketplace however I get a message "The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later." I can connect to the Netweaver server via http://<server_name>:50000 so dont know what the problem is? Perhaps I need a SP18 MI JSP cab file. Is one available? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Gavin.

When exactly do you get this message? While u try to load the MI Homepgage?

Just some suggestions:

- You need to start the MI prior using the shortcut which should be places in /Windows/startup folder.

- I think you need to use localhost instead of 127.0.0.1 to start the MI Homepage.

- With SP13 you still should be able to start the MI but patch it afterwards to SP18.

Cheers,

Sascha

Hi Gavin,

The best thing to do is to install SP18 directly and not patch with SP13. The problem you are facing is incompatibility between creme and SP13. You will find SP18 download in SMP.

Thanks for all the input. The issue was solved by using http://localhost:4444/me as the url. I am now able to connect to the Netweaver MI system via the PDA and patch to SP18.

Hi Gavin,

Yes, you do have to have MI Client SP18 for running MI on Windows 5.0. However, you may not get as good performance as on Windows 2003.
