Hi all,
I have started web as 6.40. but while startup jcontrol.exe process is being stopped automatically. And following is the error message in the developer trace.
pls kindly help me out to resolve this issue.

Hi,
So the real error is this one
SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sapdb://sapserver-1/J2E [Restart required]
There is a problem with connecting to the database. Please try restarting the db, and check if it solves the problem. If not doublecheck whether data about it in secure store is correct.

P.S. Please do not modify the file instance.properties as it will have no effect on the startup issue and can only mess up your system.

Hi,
The std_dispatcher is from an old run and std_bootstrap.out does not show anything, which most likely means that the jvm cannot be correctly initialized.
Check jvm_bootstrap and dev_bootstrap and let us know if you find any error there.

Hi,
1. Try increasing the heap size to 512 (or 1024 for 1GB RAM) through configtool. Restart J2EE Server.
2. Also increase the virtual memory of the system.
3. Check you have given proper entries for JDK in the environment variables.

Hi,
JControlExecuteBootstrap: error executing bootstrap node [bootstrap] (rc=66)
means that the global bootstrap did not succeed. Check in
std_bootstrap.out for the actual error that causes failure and paste it here.

Hello Kiran,
there certain parameters in the Intance.parameter file which are not proper:
1)
<i>instance.install.dir=E:\usr\sap/J2E/JC00/j2ee</i>
why is it having both forward and back slashes in the path.
give the following substitute
<b>instance.install.dir=E:/usr/sap/J2E/JC00/j2ee</b>
2) Put a Hash (#)before the following Property.
#instance.box.number
3) In bootstrap.JavaParameters just keep single Value
<b>bootstrap.JavaParameters=-Djco.jarm=1</b>
remove the rest Djco entries from this line.
4) Make sure you do not making any mistake while modifying the Instance.property file. & as a preventive measure take a Backup of the file before doing any modifications.
Do try the above and let me know the effect.

Please provide me the follwing information:
1) When was the last time server running successfully.
2) Has the Java Parameters Or Any cofiguration file modified by any one.
3) Incase if any one has made any modification what was it.
4) send me the -> instance.properties file, dev_server_0, dev_jcontrol & dev_dispatcher files to my email id.
