SMD Agents - Install on Managed Systems question

I am on Solution Manger 7.0 EHP1, I am trying to configure diagnostics for our JAVA systems ( PI JAVA and BW JAVA ) for Wily Introscope. When I go to Setup Wizard for Managed systems, I see my PI and BW Java systems with the yellow warning symbol, when I further look through the message it indicates....

"Please install SMD Agents on managed systems"

Do I have to install the SMD agent on the PI system ? or is this just configured from solution manager. It looks like I have to install the SMD agent on the PI JAVA and BW JAVA System. I have the agent installed for Solution manager but not on the PI and BW Systems.

Can someone confirm ? Any help appreciated.

Hi,

You have to install a SMDAgent on each server that you want to monitor with the E2E Diagnostics tools.

Hello Andrew,

Please follow the agent Installation Strategy guide.

You need to install SMD agents on all managed systems. Install the latest agent 7.30.

While installing, register the agent to SOLMAN system in "Connect diagnostic Agent to diagnostics of SOLMAN".

You can also go for SLD registration. Decide your strategy.

Then you should be able to use setup wizard for managed systems.
