Does Adapter Engine require a j2ee server or webAS. I read it is standalone application developed in J2SE.
I thought adapter engine is on the java stack and it requires j2ee server
can any one clear this doubt.

XI 2.0 used Plain J2Seengine. XI 3.0 uses the J2EE engine .
On XI 3.0 you can also use plain j2se engine as an added adapter engine.
