SOLMAN 7.1 Technical Monitoring - System Monitoring - Host Grey

Hi All,

Wondering why my host monitoring in system monitoring is greyed out? I managed to get Technical Systems, Database and others work well but not Host Monitoring.

I checked SAPHOSTAGENT is running fine, DAA and wily as well. Also, all updated to latest version. Template assigned to Host monitoring as well. All troubleshooting and logs leaves no clue.

Any idea as i've run out of ideas.....

Is the issue got resolved, please let me know how did you resolve it, Even i have the same problem.

Hi,

Yes, it is resolved... below are the steps performed:

1) Install DAA to latest version available in SMP

2) Update SAPHOSTAGENT to latest version

3) Update LM-Serive to latest

4) Appy note 1672890, 1675184, 1685530

5) Rerun managed system setup

6) Stop and start DAA Agent

7) Remove the Instance from System monitoring and re-run system monitoring for the instance by reassigning the template

😎 go to landscape browser, and ensure no error in technical system and host, and no failed store.

hello guys,

I would suggest you to check

  • The wily introscope if installed and the DAA agents are connected and running fine .
  • Update the Hostagents and check all setting are fine in the solution manager.
  • Later check the DAA agent from the wily are connected or not.

This is the initial analysis done when u get a gray rating in the early watch and what Chang told is quiet the detailed way.

Hi Nicholas,

Another hint would be to check to see if the right port is assigned as the can cause issues like this?

Hi Nicholas and all,

I have the similiar issue even the DB exeception metrics are still grey, had implemented some relevant OSS notes... but no luck. Did you find any solution for this?

Hi Nicholas,

Please can you do the following check on the grey metrics:

1. Access the context menu by clicking on the small triangle next to

the grey metrics

2. Then select "Metric Troubleshooting".

You'll see a list of checks performed on the metric which should tell us

where things went wrong.

Hi Roland,

I did check and below are what it returns:

Configuration XML 7.01.01.20120305075238 did not reach the agent. Agent XML:

No measured values have been reported by data provider.

No measured values were ever calculated.

However, when i click on the "FIX" icon, nothing appears........

I've changed the metric for "Host" managed object, assign and activate, rerun technical monitoring setting.

i dont find any useful thread on SDN nor SMP. I've drill to landscape browser, agent log, daa log, extractor and etc but to no avail. However, i did get host info on Wily and E2E.... just wondering???

Any clues?
