Hi All,

We are getting dump in one of our custom program "TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED" . But some time the program finishes successfully and sometime it gives the dump.

We have below parameter in profile

ztta/roll_area = 6500352

ztta/roll_extension = 2000000000

abap/heap_area_total = 2000683008

abap/heap_area_dia= 2000683008

abap/heap_area_nondia=2000683008

em/initial_size_MB = 8192

and in the dump we are getting below message.

==========================================================================

How to correct the error

The amount of storage space (in bytes) filled at termination time was:

Roll area...................... 6201648

Extended memory (EM)........... 2002747344

Assigned memory (HEAP)......... 1997358272

Short area..................... " "

Paging area.................... 24576

Maximum address space.......... 18446697159420952031

As i can see here the extended memory requirement is more.

I need to know which parameters i should update to avoid this dump.

Please help.

Regards

Deepak

Hi,

Refer this SAP notes,

SAP Note 649327 - Analysis of memory consumption.

SAP Note 20527 - Runtime error TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED

SAP Note 185185 - Application: Analysis of memory bottlenecks

SAP Note 369726 - TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED "

Hi,

Refer this ,

For ztta/roll_area:

==============

Unit: Bytes

Default value: 6500000 (6.5 MB)

Recommended value: UNIX: 6500000 (6.5 MB). 1000000 (1 MB) is the minimum size; under IBM AS/400 167731120 (16 MB); under Windows NT: 1000000 (1 MB).

Also,Check whether ztta/roll_area equal or larger than ztta/roll_first.

ztta/roll_extension,:

================

this specifies the amount in bytes of R/3 extended memory that a user context can allocate

Unit: Bytes

Default value: 250000000 (250 MB)

20971520 (20 MB) under AS/400

Recommended value: 20971520 (20 MB).

em/initial_size_MB: should be considerably larger than ztta/roll_extension

Abap/heap_area_total :

===================

Unit: Bytes

Default value: 800000000 (800 MB)

abap/heap_area_dia:

=================

Unit: Bytes

Default value: 80000000 (80 MB)

Recommended value: 2 GB

abap/heap_area_nondia:

====================

Unit: Bytes

Default value: 40000000 (40 MB)

Recommended value For the following platforms:

IBM AIX: 190000000 (190 mil. bytes)

Siemens-Nixdorf SINIX: 350000000 (350 mil. bytes)

HP-UX: 600000000 (600 mil. bytes)

Other platforms: 900000000 (900 mil. bytes)

em/initial_size_MB:

===============

Unit: 1 MB

Default value: 128 MB

Recommended value: 200 to 500 MB, approximately 5 MB for each R/3 user

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Deepak,

This dump usually occurs in situations where the data selection is large. You could consider executing this program in the background. You may need to revise the memory related parameters only in situations where the dump occurs frequently in your system.

cheers!!

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I have gone through some of the notes and sdn link also and the one which you have suggeted. But the program for which we are getting dump is getting finished succefully someday/time and some other day it is getting canceled.

So i am not very sure how to permanently resolve this problem. Please find below the output of "sappfpar check" Can you please suggested how i can find if there is any problem in parameter setting from below output? and if yes which i should change with what value.

Please help.

Thanks
