Hi Szilard,
I think the easiest way to narrow down your problem would be to check the SLD Getting Started checklist

I have found the following in the log dir of ABAP stack:

that is really strange, and no Google result for this error code.
Hi Szilard,
The reason of the OPCODE 71 is an unknow code is actually not clear yet.
There has been some issue where the issue is related to the Kernel 720 been too old.. If possible kindly update the patch as per note 19466 and let me know if the error still
happens with the new kernel.
Regards,
Roland
Hi Roland,
I have bad news, soory but kernel patch did not help
the issue is the same /sld alias is not functional.
additionally we are facing to an other issue in dev_w* logfiles:
ORA-24960: the attribute OCI_ATTR_MODULE is greater than the maximum allowable length of 48
I was reading in OSS a note, it says we do not have to take care about it.
tomorrow I will check /nsldcheck and come back with the result.
Thank you for your support, any other idea, suggestion?
regards,
Hi Roland and others
I have checked the SLDCHECK, and here is the result:
Use transaction SLDAPICUST if you wish to maintain the SLD server access data
Launching the SLD GUI in a separate browser window...
=> Verify in the browser GUI that the SLD is in a healthy running state!
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code 3
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
=> Check SLD function and configurations
SLD is still down:
500 Internal Server Error

Hi,
To retrieve data from the SLD the "Landscape Fetch" relies on the so-
called SLD ABAP API which is configured as follows:
1) TCode SLDAPICUST: enter the URL of the SLD and a SLD user / password.
2) Also necessary for the SLD ABAP API is a JCo destination which is typically created on the AS Java Server on which the SLD runs.
The JCo destination is called "SAPSLDAPI_<SID>" and is created in the Visual Administrator (-> Service: JCo RFC Provider). You need to specify an ABAP gateway to which the JCo destination can connect.
3) The JCo destination "SAPSLDAPI_<SID>" must be unique, i.e. it must not be defined on several AS Java servers with identical name and gateway.
4) Additionally, in TCode SM59 there must be an RFC destination "SAPSLDAPI" which uses the name of the JCo destination above as registered program ID.
5) The gateway and gateway service entered in "SAPSLDAPI" must be exactly the same as the gateway used in the JCo destination.
Can you make sure these steps are followed and if it solves the issue?
Kind Regards,
Roland
Hi Aidan,
I have recustomized SLDAPICUST.
The user is ok, I can log in with this user through SAPGUI and webgui also.
but the test says:
Properties of RFC destination SAPSLDAPI
RFC host: %%RFCSERVER%%
Program ID: SAPSLDAPI_<SID>
Gateway host: <hostname>
Gateway service: sapgw10
Testing RFC connection to the SLD java client...
RFC ping was successful
SLD destination settings:
Alias: SAP_CONFIG
Host name: <hostname>
Port number: 51000
User: SLDAPIUSER
Testing HTTP connection to the SLD server...
An exception has occurred:
Exception in SLD client: AbapSLDRequestHandler.ping(): server connection *** failed *** on Tue Mar 06 13:29:35 CET 2012
Connection to SLD does not work
and also through browser the sld target is blink.
As far as I see the SLD is not running, where can I start it up at all? Maybe we can get more logs there....
thx

Hi,
Could you please check note [1244841|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1244841] - SLD API: Error during connection
test
Please check if the user/password (SLDAPIUSER) used in the transaction
SLDAPICUST is ok and user is not locked.
Make sure the user maintained in transaction SLDAPICUST has the same
password in all your system landscape.
Try by logging in to the SLD url with this user.
Please try all the steps provided in attachment to SAP note [768452|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/768452](Troubleshooting SLDCHECK)
Regards,
Aidan
Hi,
Did you still activate all web services for the SOLMAN_SETUP? If "not"
please see the attached note 1514652 for the activation of web services.
Maybe you have problem with SLD user? If you see Solman_Setup locked
slddsuser, sldapiuser in this case please see the SAP notes [1426723|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1426723] and
[1547052 |http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1547052]and please verify the below link and the related links:

HI,
The SAP note 1514652 I already checked but that is not relevant in 7.1. And additionally I am still not there. SLD select is in System preparation phase.
Tr. SLDCHECK also says the same:
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code 4
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
=> Check SLD function and configurations
Question: how to start up SLD?
Thx
regards
Hi,
This error indicates a problem with the SLDAPICUST configuration
Function call returned exception code 4
In transaction SLDAPICUST, have you maintained an SLD destination with
host, port, user and password ?
Please take this user for interactive logon to the SLD via browser
with URL http://host:port/sld
and try to display data.
This way you can check if the user is valid for SLD logon and has
sufficient authorizations.
If the user is suitable for SLD logon, then please clear and re-type
its password in SLDAPICUST, as this is a common source of errors.
Regards,
Aidan
