SolMan EHP1 to upgrade to latest Patch level

Former Member

Dear Experts,

SolMan has been installed in our landscape with EHP1 (7.01). We wish to apply the latest support pack to keep it at current patch levels. We have downloaded the recent support pack for ABAP stack of SolMan from service market place. When we use SPAM, options "From Frontend" or From Application Server are not enabled.

Will you please guide how to enable the option?

Additional Input:

SolMan runs on Windows 2003 Enterprise (x64) with Oracle as database.

Please help us...

Thanks & regards,

T Saravanan.

Dear experts,

Thanks a lot for a overwhelming response.

As suggested, we are trying to upgrade using mpoz, instead of from the files downloaded from SMP. Shall get back to you in case of any issue.

Thanks again...

Regards,

T Saravanan.

Hello,

You didn't mean you manually downloaded the SP for Service Marketplace, right....you used a MOPZ transaction?

If you manually downloaded, you may not have pulled the correct files. You should use MOPZ.

Hi,

Are you login to client 000 with user who has same authorization as DDIC.

Also, ensure maintenance certificate is not expired.

Thanks,

Thanks Mr. Chang for your instant response.

1. Yes. We have logged onto the system using DDIC login in client 000.

2. Recently we have applied the maintenance certificate obtained from SAP.

After logon using DDIC account, we are getting the options "From Frontend" & "From Application" are enabled. We are able to select the CAR / SAR file also.

After selecting the file, system shows the content of the SAR file. While selecting the Decompress option, system displays a message "Browsing EPS inbox..." and after sometime shows File "..." successfully transferred, decompressed and then deleted".

When we try to define the queue and select the component to apply to apply the support pack, system displays a message "No Support Package found for this selection".

Will you please guide beyond this point?

Thanks & Regards,

T Saravanan.

Hi,

This seems to be a problem with the dependencies.

You can check the dependencies from MOPZ. in EHP1 for Solman there are some new SPs that are required. Please check it trough MOPZ / SMP.

Nirmal.

Hi T Saravanan,

Have you placed Support packages files on application server /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory. Also have you uncared those files?

Hi,

You required to maintain recurring dependencies while importing Support package. e.g You cannot import Support Package 2 of SAP_BASIS 701without importing Support Package 18 of ST *SAPKITL428 and Support Package 12 of BBPCRM *KU50012 at the same time.

I refer for you to check following SAP Note. It might solved your Issued

394616 Dependencies between Support Packages of Solman7.01 page 6/7.
