Hi, I recently faced an issue wherein we were updating a custom table by reading a file on app server. The problem was that the records contained special characters which were being updated as u2018#u2019 in the table through a program. We found a workaround for the same by opening the DATASET using a particular codepage(1160) that supported those special characters and then the special characters were getting updated correctly. Now the problem is that when that data is being pulled in a smartform, the print preview looks good because we enhanced the code page of the printer as well to 1160. But when we try to print the same or download it as PDF only one special character out of those (u0178) is again getting converted to #.
Can someone help me with this?
Hi,
Can you try printing the text via windows unicode device type SWINCF? You should also use device type SWINCF or PDFUC to create the PDF.(see SAP note 999712)

Aidan
