Hi All,

I would like to know the significance and use of the LOCK button on the top right corner of the role creation screen in ERM 5.3.

Hello Ammu,

You can lock roles in order to avoid that other user modifies it while you're performing a modification. Normally, the system itself creates a lock entry with your user and the role you're changing every time you start a modification to a role.

It can be possible that you have a problem with the web interface, or you close the web page while you're modifying a role and the system holds the lock, as described here

If that happens, you can unlock the roles under ERM -> Configuration -> Administration -> Lock Management
