How to set the timeout period in VC?

Hi Experts,

I using VC create a few VC reports, 1 of them gt timeout error.

May I know how to set the timeout period in VC?

is it set in VC or set in Portal?

Please guide step by step as I very new in VC..

Hi Derrick,

timeout problems are mostly handled by portal /WebAS parameters. Check out the connection parameters like connection lifetime.

So, how to set the timeout connection in portal?

i hv go through this forum jz nw :

I hv set the Page Timeout to '300000', the problem still the same..

My question:

1. this method correct?

2. will this cause another problem if set the page timeout higher than '300000'?

Hi Anja,

I check the connection lifetime in visual administrator (correct?)

the default setting for connection lifetime is '3600'.

Question: how much is going to set to solve my problem?

yes, correct. Hm, how much depends on how much data you send. I would just set a higher value and test
