Firefighter Description in Super User Privilege Management

Dear Experts,

we are using the Firefighter fucntionality in SAP GRC 10.0.

Some of our users are a little bit confused about the description that is provided for their assigned firefighters, as it is saying somthing like: "Provisioned through CUP for request number 9000000021" instead of the Firefighter ID name. As the technical IDs of the firefights are not thae easy to understand, an additional description is necessary for them to determin wich Firefighter to use.

This is happening since we use the workflow to assign Firefighter, where in the access request the description is maintained with the above text and not changable.

Can somebody tell, who to change this description to the Firefighter ID name when an assignment is done over the workflow?

Thank you very much in advance for your support,

Eva

HI,

Yes you are correct in regards to the Access Request details appearing in the "Description" column of the SPM cockpit, which is not really helpful to a end user. This is not changable during the provisioning workflow tasks.

But, there is a manual workaround. From NWBC, you can go to Access Management >SPM Maintenance > Firefighters and then "open" one of the assignments and manually change the "Comments". I think this will replace the text within the "Description" field within the cockpit manually.

In the interest of the long term, I would be inclined to raise a SAP message and ask them to add a "Comments" column into the cockpit, and let the "Description" column actually serve it's purpose for the end user.

Hope that helps.

Hi Eva,

The description should refer the user to the access request for further details as that is where the request should be justified. The request then acts as the centrally audit ready system and Firefighter references it.

Kaushal has provided a workaround but personally I prefer to keep the reference to the Access Request as the user is likely to be receiving email notifications and alerts from the workflow configuration anyway and so should be able to identify which ID to use for the request.

If you want more info, please get in touch!
