Two envelope bidding

Dear SAP gurus,

We are in SRM 7 EHP 1 with ECC 6 EHP 5 as backend. We're interested to use the feature two envelope bidding. I know that there are 2 paths to go for this, either through (Procurement for Public Sector) or activate bussiness functions in EHP1. As PPS only works for extended classic, while we're planning to go to classic mode, there are some questions I need to be clear:

1. As I dont see any restriction on the business function 'two envelope bidding', I assume that this business function also works in classic deployment. Is this correct?

2. Is there any difference of features between two envelope bidding for PPS and the business function activation?

3. One of the requirements from the users are to eliminate manual paperwork. So in this case, technical evaluator usually will be users. Rather than asking users to complete the evaluation online and ask purchasers to attach it to document, is it possible to have the RFx itself routed to users, so they can input their evaluation there?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

No .PPS works only on Extended Classic scenario

If you are using PPS you can integrate C folder for sending the Bid documents .. In Business function activation i am not sure whether this functionality is there..

For this only you have to integrate Cfolder -Bidder can give the comments and the technical evaluator( Finance Users (or) Purchase manager will approve the bids

As far as I know there are two routes to have two envelope bidding.

One --> From PPS, you can see from the library in here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm701/helpdata/EN/75/7b8f17d34746a882a775371ef1f2f8/frameset.htm As far as I know PPS does require Extended classic scenario

Two --> From activation of business function in SRM 7 EHP 1, you can see from library in here:

From what I read, there is no pre-requisite to have PPS for this.

So what I'm actually asking, whether approach no 2, to have 2 envelope bidding without PPS can work in classic scenario?

Hi,

I am aware of the option 1 in that also we have to activate the business functions for PPS then only the nodes will appear

for config

Regarding option 2 -raise a OSS message and get confirmation
