Good morning,
I am in the midst of an upgrade of EHP 2 into NW 2004S. I am using level 115 of SAPehpi. The abap side has run well and is almost finished buildng the shadow instace. The JAVA side has me puzzled with this error "Unable to execute the SDT request Java_EE operation pre-execute on hostname ". The trouble ticket:

The execution of ended in error.
class java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.sdt.j2ee.model.J2EEDataModelIF.getRootJ2EEElement() of an object loaded from local variable 'model'

Use the information provided to trouble-shoot the problem. There might be an OSS note providing a solution to this problem. Search for OSS notes with the following search terms:
java.lang.NullPointerException
CHECK_UPGRADE_UNIT
UPGRADE_PREPROCESSING

Lastly, I found a link where other have had this issue on the solution Manager side, but I am unsure if that fix would correct this.

The issue was resolved. SAP gave a different version of the file sdt_j2ee.jar which resides in DIR_PUT\java\lib. It seems there have been some issues with the version included of SAPehpi level 115.
