Import using XML/DataXchange containing special characters

Hello all,

When we roll out to a new site, we need to configure a lot of masterdata, like users, statusses, nc codes etc. We use import XML through DataXchange for this purpose. As we more and more roll out to countries with special characters in their written language we encounter difficulties because the DX interface does not support these characters.

We are on SAP ME 5.2.5.

Is there anybody who can give us a good suggestion on how to avoid having to input all data manually???

Hi Hans,

I would try to replace those "specific" symbols with numerical presentation based on UTF-8 e.g. &#8364 for Euro sign.

Can you send me an example of this works? I would like to see a DX Import using these numerical values and then see what they look like in the ME WIP database.

Can you also tell me where I can find a list of these numerical values?

I have not used that before though heard that from other colleagues. So, it's worth playing with.
