Differences between-fresh SRM installation vs upgrade

Can anybody of you help me out with the following-

Differences between the two approaches –

• fresh SRM install vs upgrade with kernel upgrade and patch application. Which approach is better and why?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

It depends on your Project Requirement. If you are upgrading your current version with any new version, then you will have to upgrade the system.

If you are implementing new version, then you will have install fresh and then upload the data from Old System.

You need to check your project. (Upgrade or Implementation)
