SAP Netweaver Portal Installation Issue

Hi,

I was trying to install Netweaver 7.3 (Java) in my windows 7 and when I was in step 30 of 33 (Java components deployment)

I got the following error

Error message is 'undefinednull:ram-PC:50004 Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException: Cannot open connection to host: 10.10.0.10 and port: 50004. Check if the host and port specified are correct and AS Java is up and running.. SOLUTION: Check 'undefined' and '' for more information.).

I have successfully created loopback adapter and able to ping the IP address of the adapter . But when SAP server is trying to connect to this adapter using port 50004 and Its getting the error message . I don't know how to assign the port number to this loop back adapter.

I tried to use telnet but it failed . (telnet ram-PC 50004 )

loopback adapter IP : 10.10.0.10

Host name : ram-PC

Steps taken to resolve this issue :

updated windows host file with IP and host name (10.10.0.10 ram-PC)

updated windows service file with host and port (ram-PC 50004)

uninstalled Antivirus

Turned off windows firewall

Added loopback adapter IP address to Windows firewall inbound rules .

None of the above steps resolved the error . Please help me on the above issue.any help would be appreciated .

NW7.3 does not support Windows 7 to install on.

Hi Ram,

Check the port, number, I doubt if that is correct. Check, using, netstat -a, and see if that port is in listening status.

Also, open up, IE and type, http://<ipaddress>:50004/irj/portal, see what is the response you are getting.

portnumber should be, 50000 + 100 * instance number.

Also, check in services.msc file to see if the service is defined and its up and running.

Thanks for your response. netstat -a doesn't list my loopback adapter port (10.10.0.10) . Where should I define the host and port. It complains about port 50004.

windows host file has "10.10.0.10 ram-PC" entry

Windows service file has "ram-PC 50004/tcp " entry.

Still I am getting the same error. Here is the complete error message . Please let me know how to define host and port . How can I make sure SAP will get the connection using my host and port before even I run sap installation. I tried " telnet " and got "Couldn't establish connection error.

Check the following note if you have the right settings:

1158626: "P4 connection to ICM on machine with multiple IPs fails"

Thanks for your response Vipin. I have tried to update the files in profile folder as per the document .

I see the following files in folder profile (C:\usr\sap\RAM\SYS\profile)

DEFAULT

RAM_J00_ram-PC

RAM_SCS01_ram-PC

Which file do I need to update ? I update the default file and still getting the following error.
