SAP MDG as Standalone System

Former Member

HI All,

My company is planning to use SAP MDG but we have sap 4.7 system ,so we decided to use MDG as Central Hub on standalone instance for central creation. Now I have following queries.

1. Do we need to copy all config data(plant, currency, material type, material group) basically lookup values from 4.7 to standalone system? If yes but does my standalone system support that by default or I need to build it custom?

2. Since we want to implement approval process also, do we need to copy the org structure also?

3. What functionality will be missing when we use SAP MDG as Standalone System?

Thanks,

Rajesh

Hi,

1. Yes all the dat needs to be copied

2. You can just assign the users in your orginazation structure to the profiles(Master data specialist, steward etc.) in BRF+

3. After copying the data to your standalone ECC 6.0 instance, all the process of data governance happens on your standalone system and once it is done you can replicate the data to your SAP 4.7 system. According to my experience, no functionalities will be missing.
