Dual Stack split tool for the SAP Netweaver

Hello,

Has anybody used the Dual Stack Split tool for SAP netweaver for splitting the ABAP and Java Stacks?

Do we need to install any ABAP add-on for the Dual Stack Split component on Solution Manager or the system which is getting splitted?

Note 1561421 - Dual-Stack Split (2.0) for Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver

If anybody has any lesson learned please share.

Thanks,

The dual stack split removes the Java run time environment for NetWeaver 7.02 and lower ABAP+Java application servers. This is not supported on Solution Manager, PI or NW 7.3 based systems. It's a fairly straight forward operation that splits off the Java run-time environment into it's own SID which can run either on the same or remote host.

Hallo.

We have a EP 7.0 (Abap+Java) on a MSCS (Windows cluster) so one ABAP instance on node1 of MSCS and one ABAP instance on node2 of MSCS

Could I split dual-stack into separate ABAP and Java systems on the same hosts on the two MSCS cluster nodes?

Thanks.

Hi,

Does this increase memory requirement as well due to 2 separate SIDs.

And no it does not increase the resource requirements.
